ION LANDS has said Nivalis Nights features roughly 135 fully voiced characters. For context, that is a voice-acting budget most indie studios never touch; it is the reason the game took this long.
Named characters so far
- Thaddeus Carminus: the retiring noodle-bar owner who passes his business to you at the start.
- Salt Pete: a character tied to the port and the ocean, with opinions about what lives in Nivalis' waters.
- Ava: shown alongside the protagonist in official gameplay, with a role in the story that is not yet fully explained.
Relationships and romance
Relationship management is a confirmed system: the Steam description says your influence grows with every decision, and the store page carries the Romance tag. What the studio has not done is name romanceable characters or explain whether romance changes gameplay beyond story. This page will track both once the game is out.
