How it fits the loop

Think of fishing as the slow, relaxing supply option. Markets cost money, greenhouses cost setup and maintenance, and fishing costs time on the water. Which one is most efficient is a launch question; the game may well balance them so that all three matter.

• What species exist and what they're used for.
• Whether fishing has its own minigame or upgrades.
• Whether the ocean hides anything beyond fish; Cloudpunk fans will have theories.

The water is clearly more than decoration, though. The travel Q&A shows boats as one of the four confirmed ways around the city.

Fishing as a supply route

The three ingredient sources — buying at markets, growing your own, and catching them — sit at different points on a cost curve. Markets are instant but cost money every time. Greenhouses need setup and daily attention. Fishing costs time and travel, and the docks are a district away from the market.

That makes fishing the option for players who would rather spend a slow hour on the water than optimise a supply spreadsheet. Nothing official says fishing is more profitable; the honest framing is that it is a different way to pay for ingredients, with your time as the currency.

The docks are a place, not a menu

The travel Q&A lists the boat alongside walking, taxis and the metro, which means the water is navigable space rather than a fishing minigame tucked into a menu. Expect the harbour and waterfront to be where the fishing loop actually lives.
