Where the September 29 date comes from
The date was confirmed on June 29, 2026, in the release date trailer for the newly renamed Nivalis Nights. The project had been known simply as Nivalis since its 2021 announcement, and the rename landed at the same time as the date.
Steam lists the launch for September 29, 2026. The Epic Games Store version is confirmed but undated. That is the whole official picture; anything more specific you read elsewhere is guessing.
How we got here: a short delay history
- 2021: announced as Nivalis, set in the Cloudpunk universe.
- 2024 target: slipped, along with a 2025 target, as the studio kept working on the city and its cast.
- June 2026: renamed Nivalis Nights and dated for September 29, 2026.
If you saw "Nivalis" anywhere before June 2026, it is the same game. Search results are still catching up with the rename.
Demo, beta, and playtest status
As of August 23, 2026, there is no public demo, beta, or playtest. The studio has not announced one. If that changes, this page updates the day it does.
What happens between now and launch
The team has been releasing developer Q&A videos through August: what the game is, what you do each day, and how travel works. Expect more official material, and eventually a store page price, in the final weeks before launch.

No pre-order and no price yet
As of September 20, 2026 the Steam store page has no price and no pre-purchase option. The only action available is adding the game to your wishlist. That is unusual nine days before launch, but it is the publisher’s decision and not a sign that the date has moved.
It also means any “pre-order” you see on a key reseller today was created without an official price behind it. Those listings are placeholders.
Unlock time and pre-loading
Neither has been announced. Steam unlocks are usually published on the store page in the last few days before release, and pre-loading is normally enabled a day or two ahead for a game of this size. When either appears, this page records it with the source.
Languages at launch
The Steam listing already carries the full language list, so this part is settled: interface and subtitles in English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Turkish. English is the only language with full audio support, which means the other ten get subtitles over English voice acting.
