There is no multiplayer and no co-op in Nivalis Nights. The Steam store page lists the game under Single-player and carries no Multi-player, Co-op or Online Co-op category. Nothing in the publisher’s material — the Q&A videos, the store description, the 505 Games pages — mentions an online mode or a plan to add one.

Why people expect co-op anyway
Two reasons. First, the game is built out of systems that sound social — running a restaurant, choosing menu prices, decorating an apartment, building relationships. It is easy to imagine a friend running the bar while you work the kitchen.
Second, other life sims in this space do ship with co-op, so players reasonably ask. The answer here is the same as it was for Cloudpunk: ION LANDS builds single-player narrative games with a strong authored cast, and this one follows that pattern.
What you can do “together”
- Both play your own city. Two copies, two saves, voice chat. You compare districts, menus and nightly takings — the fastest way to learn which strategies work.
- Share the library. Steam Family Sharing is enabled, so a household can share one copy, though only one person can play at a time.
- Compare notes on a shared screen. The game is mouse-friendly and fully controller-supported, so streaming it to a friend is easy if you want a second pair of eyes on a shop layout.
What you cannot do is put two players in one city. There is no shared world, no invite system and no co-op-specific content.
If co-op is a dealbreaker
Then this is not the game for you, and no amount of waiting changes that today: nothing has been announced, so there is no roadmap item to watch. We will update this page the day a multiplayer mode is mentioned anywhere official.

Is Nivalis Nights multiplayer?
No. The Steam listing carries the Single-player category and nothing else — no Multi-player, no Co-op, no Online Co-op.
Is co-op planned after launch?
Not announced. 505 Games and ION LANDS have not mentioned a co-op mode in any press material or Q&A video.
Was Cloudpunk multiplayer?
No. Cloudpunk, the previous game from the same studio, is single-player as well.
Can two people share the game?
Steam Family Sharing is enabled on the store page, so a household library can be shared — but only one person plays at a time, and there is no shared world.
Can I play while a friend plays their own copy?
Yes, and this is how most people will play 'together': both own the game, both build their own city, and you compare progress over voice chat. Nothing in the game connects the two saves.
