What the specs tell you

The 16 GB RAM floor is high for an indie title, and the 6 GB VRAM minimum means integrated graphics are out. The gap between the minimum and recommended tiers is almost entirely the GPU: if your machine is borderline, the graphics card is what to check first.

Three things people miss in this list

• The memory floor does not move. Minimum and recommended are both 16 GB. That is a statement about the game’s simulation and the size of its city, not about graphics settings — 8 GB machines are outside the supported range either way.
• Integrated graphics are excluded. “Dedicated AMD / NVIDIA graphics card” rules out Intel Iris and AMD Radeon integrated chips. Thin-and-light laptops are out unless they have a discrete GPU.
• A broadband connection is required even though the game is single-player. The honest reading is that Steam needs to be reachable for authentication and cloud saves; there is no announced online mode. Offline play after the first launch has not been addressed publicly.

Windows only, and a modest install size

Unlike some recent simulation releases, there is no macOS or Linux build. If you are on a Mac, the PC version is not an option — you would be waiting for a console port that has not been announced.

The 30 GB install is small by 2026 standards, which fits the game’s style: it is a dense city rendered at a human scale rather than a continent of high-resolution terrain. Downloading and installing should be quick compared with the 90–100 GB releases this genre sometimes ships.

Will it run on your machine?

Three questions settle it, in this order: does the machine have a discrete GPU (not integrated), does that GPU have at least 6 GB of VRAM, and does the system have 16 GB of RAM? If all three are yes, you are inside the minimum spec. For 1440p or high settings, match the recommended tier instead.

Steam Deck owners should wait for a compatibility rating: the deck’s shared-memory GPU sits below the 6 GB dedicated VRAM floor, so a Proton rating is genuinely uncertain rather than merely unannounced.
